I Continue To Return To Grey

I cannot give up drawing. As much as I enjoy fooling around with different mediums and experimenting I always come back to drafting, drawing, sketching...
I seriously enjoy these conte drawing on toned paper. Conte is really a lot harder to control than you think but, I feel I'm getting better. Looking forward to more figure drawing opportunities...

Experiments in Light and Shadow.

We've been playing around with value in Drawing class. This is a nice loose and laid back project.
Laydown vine charcoal on paper, pretty dark.
Take kneaded eraser and start erasing away only where the light is on the figure.
Use a vinyl eraser for extreme highlights.
Go back in with a charcoal pencil and sketch in the darkest darks and outlines.

This is not amazing by any means and not very proportional but still nice to do something different. You should try it sometime.

Now Go Draw!

The Body Is Made Of Shapes...

This is James.
He's one of the first men I truly enjoyed drawing.

I'm actually proud of myself.

I Want A Rockin' Fro...

This is Carmen. She rocks the coolest fro I've seen in real life. At least one on a chick that is.

This is by far my favorite class. <3
